    FAQS

How does laser help with vascular lesions and rosacea?
Laser treatment for vascular lesions and rosacea targets blood vessels under the skin using specific wavelengths of light. The laser energy heats and destroys abnormal blood vessels without damaging surrounding tissue. Common laser types include:
    - Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) – Targets haemoglobin in blood vessels, reducing redness and inflammation.
    - Nd:YAG Laser – Effective for deeper vascular lesions.
What are the pretreatment requirements before laser acne, rosacea, or thread vein treatment?
Before undergoing laser treatment for vascular lesions, rosacea, or acne, it’s important to follow these precautions to ensure safety and optimal results.
    1. Avoid Sun Exposure
    - Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2-4 weeks before treatment.
    - Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30-50 sunscreen daily to prevent skin irritation and hyperpigmentation.
    2. Discontinue Certain Medications & Skincare Products
    - Stop using retinoids (Retin-A, tretinoin), alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and benzoyl peroxide at least 5-7 days before treatment.
    - Avoid photosensitizing medications (e.g., tetracyclines, isotretinoin, doxycycline) as they can increase the risk of burns or hyperpigmentation.
    - Consult with your doctor if you are on blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) as they may increase bruising.
    3. Avoid Tanning (Natural & Artificial)
    - Do not use self-tanners or tanning beds atleast 2 weeks to atleast 4 weeks.
    4. Stop Certain Skincare Procedures
    - Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or waxing in the treatment area 2 weeks before the laser session.
    - Do not use exfoliating scrubs or harsh treatments that could make the skin more sensitive.
    5. Keep the Skin Clean & Hydrated
    - Stay well-hydrated before the procedure.
    - Arrive with clean, makeup-free, lotion-free, and oil-free skin on the treatment day.
    6. Inform Your Provider About Medical Conditions
    - Let your provider know if you have cold sores (HSV-1), as laser treatments can trigger outbreaks. Antiviral medication (acyclovir, valacyclovir) may be prescribed as a precaution.
    - Inform them about pregnancy, recent infections, or any skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
    7. Shave (If needed) but Avoid Waxing or Plucking
    - If treating an area with hair (e.g., for acne or facial rosacea), shave the area 24 hours before treatment.
    - Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams as they may irritate the skin.
    8. Avoid Alcohol & Smoking
    - Avoid alcohol 24-48 hours before treatment as it can increase the risk of bruising and dehydration.
    - Reduce or stop smoking for better healing and collagen regeneration.
    9. Wear Loose, Comfortable Clothing (If Treating Body Areas)
    - Tight clothing may irritate the skin after laser treatments on the body.
What should I expect and how should I care for my skin afterward?
    Laser Post-Treatment Care Guidelines
After laser treatment for vascular lesions, rosacea, or acne, proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and results.

Immediate Post-Treatment Care (First 24-48 Hours)
    - Apply Cold Compresses – Use a cool pack or ice wrapped in a soft cloth to reduce redness and swelling. Avoid direct ice contact.
    - Use Gentle Skincare – Wash with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser (e.g., Cetaphil, CeraVe). Pat dry—do not rub.
    - Moisturize – Apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer (e.g., CeraVe) to keep the skin hydrated.
    - Use Sunscreen – Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30-50 daily to prevent pigmentation and irritation.
    - Sleep With Your Head Elevated – Helps reduce swelling.
    - Avoid Makeup & Harsh Skincare – No makeup, retinoids, acids (AHAs/BHAs), vitamin C, or benzoyl peroxide for at least 3-7 days.
    - Do Not Touch, Pick, or Scratch the Skin – Let peeling or scabbing occur naturally.

    Days 3-7 Post-Treatment
    - Mild Peeling & Dryness – The skin may flake or feel tight. Keep moisturizing.
    - Limit Heat Exposure – Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for at least 48-72 hours.
    - Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water to aid skin healing.
    - Continue Avoiding Irritants – No exfoliants, harsh scrubs, or active skincare until the skin fully heals.

    Long-Term Post-Treatment Care (2-4 Weeks After Treatment)
    - Maintain Sun Protection – Continue daily SPF use.
    - Resume Active Skincare Slowly – Gradually reintroduce retinoids and exfoliants after 7-10 days.
    - Schedule Follow-Up Sessions – Multiple treatments may be needed for best results.
